The potential for more snow is coming, but much of the Pass Area woke to a winter wonderland. | BANNING, CA — Banning, Beaumont and much of the Pass Area woke to a world of white Thursday. Snow levels dropped to just over 1,000 feet in much of Southern California as a cold weather system moved into the area, according to the National Weather Service. Schools in the Yucaipa and Calimesa Unified School Districts had a rare "snow day," allowing families to take in the winter weather. "Due to the weather conditions affecting certain parts of Yucaipa and Calimesa, all schools and district offices will be closed today, February 23rd.
